Though the official flag of the Guadeloupe, an overseas region of France, is the French flag, an unofficial one is used by the locals. However, the People’s Union for the Liberation of Guadeloupe (UPLG) have proposed a markedly different flag consisting of a large central red-colored stripe with green stripes at the top and bottom. Thinner white stripes are placed between the red and green stripes. A five-pointed yellow star adorns the red stripe near the hoist. The UPLG Guadeloupe Flag is similar to the flag of Suriname.

The closest Pantone® values of the green, red and yellow are 355 C, 2035 C and Yellow C, respectively; the hexadecimal, RGB and CMYK color codes are in the table.
