The woodland camouflage of the United States Armed Forces appeared on the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) and consisted of four colors in a frog-skin pattern. It was used from early 1980s to 2000s and was replaced gradually by other more effective camouflage patterns. The four colors in the pattern were black, green, brown and sand.
