The Pan-Africanism ideology aims to increase harmony and unity amongst the various people of Africa and their descendants. It is a global movement and not just restricted to the continent of Africa.

Known as UNIA as it was designed by the Universal Negro Improvement Association, the flag is tri-color with three equal-sized horizontal stripes of, from top, red, black and green. It was adopted on 13th August 1920 at a convention at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Several countries and states in Africa and beyond have used variations of the UNIA as their national flag to show solidarity for the movement.
